I get asked all the time – “Do you have any favorite beaches you recommend for our session?”
Yes! William Hearst Memorial Beach in San Simeon. And my reasons are three fold.
- It’s not super touristy. We will not be fighting crowds and I won’t be spending hours editing people out of the background of your photos.
- It has insanely magical sunsets. The eucalyptus grove at the north end of the cove filters the light from the sun in the most serene way.
- Being that the trees sit much higher than the beach, the sun sets behind them about 30 – 40 minutes before actual sunset. Why is this exciting? Because in the summer time – when the sun is setting at 8:45 at night – we won’t have to try to keep your toddler awake way past bedtime. Win win!
In all seriousness, I have never had a session at this location that I wasn’t absolutely head over heels for. And this family was no exception! I was so excited when Danica contacted me to schedule a family session to document the beauty of the Central Coast before they moved to Colorado this summer. And the icing on the cake (no pun intended) – was this little man’s cake smash to end the evening. He rocked the balloons, the sugar and all of the above. Thank you Long Family for joining me during such a special time!
Happy 1st Birthday Little Dude!
